After he graduated summa cum laude from Oakwood University with a bachelor of arts in religion, Stafford Henderson Byers earned a master of divinity from Andrews University. He serves as a pastor for the Northern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Jamaica, New York. Throughout his career in pastoral service, Stafford Henderson Byers has cared for his congregation through prayer, counseling, and teaching, in addition to visiting parishioners in their homes and at nursing homes and hospitals.

Mr. Byers also studied law and received his juris doctor from the Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. He completed further training at the Quinnipiac University School of Law and Harvard Law School. His professional experience ranges from teaching legal courses as a visiting assistant professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law to serving as an assistant corporate counsel with the City of New Rochelle. He continues to assist clients through his private practice, which he founded in 2013.

In his leisure time, Mr. Byers enjoys reading, watching sports, and traveling.
